Environmental standards: Challenges and opportunities for EAC agro-processors

This note first presents the current environmental standards established for particular agro-processing sectors within 5 EAC countries. More explicitly, it discusses the standards enacted by the governments as well as the private sector. It then describes the set of challenges different stakeholders face when complying with said standards. Finally, the note presents opportunities and the positive effects to enhance the specific afroprocessing sector’ development given by environmental standards.
