Whitepaper on Enhancing MSME Participation in Trade: Considerations for the WTO Informal Work Programme for MSMEs

This whitepaper seeks to provide a birds-eye perspective on the growing role of MSMEs in the context of WTO and as such aims to support Governments and other stakeholders in advancing their interests in MSME related discussions in WTO context. The paper first provides a wider perspective on MSMEs in international fora, then introduces the reader to some of the specific challenges and opportunities for MSMEs (particularly in developing countries and LDC’s) in international trade, whilst providing high-level recommendations for possible priority areas as a basis for constructive engagement in a WTO context.
