Trade in Services: Current roles of MSMEs in Developed & Developing countries

This note is looking at the current roles and status of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in services in both developing and developed countries. Some common challenges as well as disparities will be showcased, in terms of their access and participation in the services’ value chains. A specific focus will be made on tourism’ services to analyse more in details the role of MSMEs in this particular sector. Finally, the note will conclude on the main policy opportunities and strategies to be leveraged to support the sustainable development of MSMEs in services.
