This briefing paper summarises findings from a study by CUTS International on “Gender challenges in e-commerce: What is being done to support women-owned MSMEs?”, and presents succintly the various challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in the digital world, the role played by global, regional and national programmes to aid the development and visibility of women entrepreneurs online and the recommendations which can help the various stakeholders to combat the obstacles surrounding digital entrepreneurship for women and allow them to achieve success in this sector.
