This note aims to summarize the issues S&SEA exporters of agricultural products face due to domestic subsidies allocate by developed countries, specifically the EU, US and Japan. This note is based on the views of agro-producers, exporters, and relevant governmental ministries and agencies from 7 countries; which allows to understand how trade distorting domestic support affects business and exports of S&SEA agroproducers, what domestic support measures are in place in these countries, and what strategies need to be put in place by governments in order to counter-act the challenges posed by domestic support in developed countries. The aim is to help trade negotiators better understand the export challenges faced by the agricultural sector and to prepare them for the 12th Ministerial Conference of the WTO.
