Importance and Effects of SPS and TBT Measures on Trade Policy and Trade Relations

The 5th EAC Geneva Forum meeting under the PACT EAC project was held on 17 July 2012. EAC Member countries’ WTO negotiators gathered to discuss the topic “Importance and Effects of SPS and TBT Measures on Trade Policy and Trade Relations”. The discussions, facilitated by CUTS International, revolved around the effects of SPS and TBT measures on trade for EAC countries and the extent to which they hinder optimal access to markets of interest to them.
