Review of Uganda’s National Industrial Policy: Case for Synergies with Climate Change, Food Security, Gender and Trade

With the current industrial policy expiring this year, the government of Uganda through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperative is in the final stages of consultations and drafting the new industrial policy, where agro-processing should be given particular attention given its potential.

Importantly, synergies of this sector with cross-cutting aspects of trade, climate change, gender and food security should be ensured if the new policy is to help Uganda become a middle-income country by 2020.
